The warmer days of summer are the perfect opportunities for traveling. Travel clothes should be comfortable, but they can also be chic and trendy. Plus, wearing stylish summer travel outfits can make your travel experience more fun and stress-free. So, today I’m sharing a round-up of summer travel outfits that can make you look your best and help you feel cool and collected, from departure to arrival.
If you are wondering what essentials to include on your packing list, here are my favorites from Amazon!
Summer Travel Outfits
In a perfect world, I always look fashionable and perfectly put-together, even while traveling in the heat of summer. But the truth is that I’m probably not going to show up at the airport, or spend hours riding in a car, in tight, stiff jeans or a elevated, head-to-toe look. I want to look chic but be super cozy! I’m sharing some of my favorite ways to travel in style without sacrificing comfort. Many pieces on my packing list are from my capsule wardrobes.
Casual Romper

Two Piece Casual Set

This two-piece set is a great summer travel outfit idea to wear on the plane. It’s chic and comfortable and doesn’t wrinkle. You can wear it casually with sneakers or dress it up with heels for an easy dinner outfit.
White Blazer + Biker Shorts + Baseball Cap

Love them or hate them, biker shorts are super comfortable. I’m on the fence, but they take up very little room in your packing cube and are easy to style. Pair them with a chic crew-neck sweatshirt or an oversized tee to be comfortable and look put together. Style them with a blazer for an elevated biker shorts outfit. Graphic Sweatershirt + Biker Shorts + White Sneakers

All-Black Cozy Outfit Set

| Leather Jacket | Black Jumpsuit | Sneakers |
Whenever I travel, I find myself getting dressed like I’m heading out in freezing temperatures. I’m always in long sleeves and cozy pants, then I’ll bring a layering piece like a denim or leather jacket. I hate being cold, and you never know how chilly it might get, right? I mean you never know right? I love this set because each piece looks great on its own, and because they’re so lightweight, they can be worn in the summer or layered together in cooler weather.
Monochrome Sweatsuit

Matching Monochromatic Lounge Sets

I like to call this outfit “Monochrome Cozy.” This whole look, from head to toe, is simple yet chic. A cardigan is a great extra layer for when you get chilly on the plane, and this tote bag is the perfect carry-all for all of your travel belongings. Find more summer airport outfits here.

Wearing a matching loungewear set is definitely the easiest way to travel in style! Ever since quarantine, they have been a staple in my wardrobe. I especially love them for long flights or car rides because you can easily throw on a matching set in the morning to stay comfortable all day long. You can buy separate pieces and wear them together, like a short-sleeved top and shorts in the same color, or buy matching pieces that are meant to be worn as a set. It all depends on how much you like to match.
Travel Graphic Sweatshirt + Mini Skirt

I know a lot of people who swear by maxi dresses for traveling. If you like the femininity of a maxi dress, but aren’t crazy about the length of the skirt, a mini skirt a great alternative. This mini skirt outfit is feminine and a little edgy. The skirt elevates the look a bit while the sweatshirt keeps it casual and cozy, which I love! I took this skirt to Rosemary Beach and it is a perfect vacation staple item because of its versatility. It frees up valuable suitcase space because it can be mixed and matched with other items on your packing list. If you need another layer, a jean jacket works great with this outfit.
Tweed Blazer + Black Jumpsuit

If you’ve ever had to go straight from the airport to an event, you will appreciate this outfit. A good solid-colored jumpsuit with a blazer or leather jacket is always my go-to in these situations. The jumpsuit keeps you comfortable while traveling to your destination, and the jacket instantly dresses it up. The bag above is the most perfect travel bag because it can be worn as a backpack or a crossbody! It’s available in multiple colors and is sturdy enough to withstand travel.
Graphic City Sweatshirts

I always include at least one long-sleeve sweatshirt on my packing list. I fell in love with these sweatshirts from Revolve a few weeks ago. I love that they are travel-friendly but not cheesy, and are super comfortable. You can style them with just about any bottom from your capsule wardrobe, includes jeans, shorts, and skirts. They are the perfect long-sleeve options for summer travel on a chilly night or plane ride!
