While skinny jeans may never be out of style, there is a new fresh range of new jean silhouettes we are seeing for fall and winter. The past year we’ve also seen a rise in the wide leg, but we are now seeing the denim trend take a bit of a turn on and focus on the in between of the skinny jeans and wide and get a bit more structured.
A pair of straight leg jeans can be worn with almost anything such as work-appropriate outfits or casual wear. I think they are so versatile, which is why they are an absolute staple in my wardrobe. Today, I’m sharing a roundup of outfit ideas that you can wear with straight leg jeans to create different kinds of fashionable outfits.
What to Wear With Straight Leg Jeans
A Blazer
Pairing a blazer with a wide leg jean especially a straight leg jean helps elongate the whole look. Depending on the body type, I’d keep this in mine when wearing a blazer. If you are taller and thinner, I would opt for a boyfriend blazer. If you are a shorter, a more structured blazer may be the answer for you when wearing straight leg jeans outfits. You can even pick and mix some bright colors to make your outfit POP!

The Details Behind the Look: If you are thinking mom jeans, think again. High waisted jeans can be as chic as it comes when styling it right and works for so many body types to make a statement. Here I pair it with my favorite boyfriend blazer by Anine Bing. A boyfriend blazer is a great item to style straight leg, full length jeans as it balances out the look. A layered a turtleneck under the blazer as it’s one of my favorite trends for fall as well as a cognac suede pump to give me an elevated look.

The Details Behind the Look: Here I created a more monochromatic on tone look. For me it makes dressing easier especially with a pair of jeans. And, if you are looking for a more structured blazer this grey blazer is a great option under $100 from Express. I kept all the accessories on tone as well with a grey bag and grey boot.
A Silk Camisole + Strappy Heel
Strappy heels are the perfect compliment to style straight leg denim jeans with. It is way more flattering than a clunky boot, and will make your legs look long and luscious.

The Details Behind the Look: A silk camisole is an essential in my capsule wardrobe. In the summer months, I would style it alone with this pair of jeans but as we are going into the fall months, layering a blazer and belt bag gives it a little edge. Depending on the shoe, how I style straight leg jeans changes and for this look I wanted to also draw attention to the detail of this scrappy sandals so I gave it a relaxed roll which takes the wide leg to a bit more tailored.
A Bootie

Fitted tops are great tops to wear with the high rise denim as you can get away with shorter tops without showing any skin. Having something fitted such as a body suit, cropped top, or fitted top will help balance out proportions when you are wearing a wide leg. It can really accentuate your waist and curves.

If you are a bit more modest layering a jacket over this will give the top a completely different look to these mom jeans. Here I layered some chunky chains to complete the look and make it pop.
