How to Style Old Money Pieces

  • Choose Classic Silhouettes: Opt for timeless pieces like tailored blazers, A-line skirts, and well-fitted trousers for an old money look.
  • Prioritize Quality Fabrics: Invest in high quality materials such as cashmere, silk, wool, linen and tweed to add sophistication to your outfits and to ensure your pieces last you for years to come.
  • Tailor for Perfection: Make sure your garments fit well. One way to do this is by visiting a tailor. This is important because proper tailoring can transform a simple piece into something elegant and refined.
  • Stick to Neutral Colors: Opt for a subdued color palette. For example, go for shades like navy, black, gray, beige, olive green, cream and white. Also, try to avoid flashy or vibrant colors. However, if you do want to incorporate a bright color, make sure your outfit is balanced out with neutrals.
  • Accessorize Timelessly: Always complete your look with classic accessories, for example, pearl necklaces, leather belts, silk scarves, and structured handbags. Then, keep your jewelry minimal and avoid oversized logos.

Things to Remember

Make sure to choose pieces that fit you well and that you truly enjoy. Although Old Money is the aesthetic it is important to choose pieces that you like and will wear for years to come. Remember to prioritize not only quality, but your personal style.
