For me, putting on casual work clothes while at home can help your mind separate working time and relaxation time Today, I’m sharing a roundup of the best outfits that can help you look chic and fashionable while staying productive and comfortable as you work from home.
Best Work from Home Outfits
Before I started this blog, The Gray Details, I worked from home for 10 years. When I was at home I need to be business casual so I was prepared for any zoom calls. As mentioned above, I found that it not only helped me mentally stay productive but overall I just felt better if anything unexpected came up. I focused on building a capsule wardrobe with my work from home clothes. All of these are great pieces I can style so many different ways. I hope these work for home outfit ideas give you some inspiration and motivation to feel good everyday to be productive while staying super comfortable. Comfortable Pants
If you work from home comfortable pants are a must! It’s the best way to stay super comfortable while maintaining the business casual protocol.

The Details Behind the Look: I love these pants, it’s the best option if you not wanting to wear jeans. They are knit with an elastic waist band and super comfortable and come in 4 colors. Here I styled it with a white button crop top and a camel blazer. It also has a matching knit blazer that is currently in my cart. If you are looking to go even more business casual, style with a mule or a bootie. Here is the same outfit style with a boot and it’s too good! This outfit would also be the perfect travel outfit for work. If you are looking for more travel outfit inspiration, check out this post.
White Button Up
If you love elevated basics like me, a button down shirt is a must. Whether its classic, a crop, or oversized it’s one staple to investment in.

The Details Behind the Look: A white Botton down shirt is a staple. This one is $67 and my favorite. I personally love all the details. It’s a crop top but long enough when wearing jeans or jean shorts that are high waisted. It’s the perfect work from home outfit because it so tailored at top so you are professional for your zoom calls.

I personally love this oversized white button down shirt. I added some statement chain necklaces to make my work from home outfit more polished when wearing jeans.
Cozy Sweaters

The Details Behind the Look: A cardigan is a staple in my work from home clothes. It’s a great piece to have on hand to add to you simple tee or tank when you get a last minute video call. This particular one is from Express and the it’s incredibly soft without sacrificing your business casual outfit.

The Details Behind the Look: One might not this a fleece sweatshirt is office appropriate but when you are adding ones with detail to your closet it makes all the difference. This puff sleeve is not only super comfortable and incredibly soft but one that will work perfect for your video call.

If you are like me when working from home, I’m always cold and layering something super comfy. I love a cozy sweater especially when it’s incredibly soft like this one. This one is under $100 and comes in so many colors. You can wear it a trouser that has an elastic waistband or keep it simple when wearing jeans.
Blazers
A year round closet staple in my capsule wardrobe, a blazer can take any basic outfit more business casual.

The Details Behind the Look: I usually start the day with wearing jeans and a statement tee. I love this one because it’s padded shoulders. I picked this one up during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and it comes in many black and grey as well. Style Tip: Add some chain link jewelry and a braided sandal to make it more great business casual.

If you have an unexpected zoom call come up, I just layer a blazer and you will look polished in this business casual outfit.
Biker Shorts

The Details Behind the Look: A biker short is a perfect option if you want to skip the real pants for your zoom meeting. They are super comfy with the elastic waistband. Here I styled with a blazer but would be super cute with an oversized button down shirt for your business meetings at home.
A Casual Dress

The Details Behind the Look: One of my favorite work home outfits ideas is a dress. An easy comfortable dress is the perfect option when you want to pass on wearing jeans. I love that this midi dress has room while being super comfy. You can definitely find so many great ones at Target & in my Amazon Shop!
