London based handbag brand, DeMellier, is known for crafting handbags that are just this. Made of durable, high quality materials, DeMellier’s handbags combine both traditional and innovative chic styles. Because of the price point, some people question whether DeMellier bags are worth the investment; however, I am dedicating this post to sharing my honest review of DeMellier and determining whether or not their bags are worth the price tag.

New York Mini Croc-Embossed Top-Handle Bag
Mireia Llusia-Lindh founded DeMellier in 2010, and originally named it MILLI MILLU. However, she rebranded her company in 2017 and chose the name DeMellier, combining both the old and the new of her family history: “De” comes from Llusia-Lindh’s grandmother, and “Mellier” comes from her own first name. These chic handbags are not only trending now, they have been a hit with celebrities and royalty alike for years. Additionally, both Vogue and Cosmopolitan featured DeMellier.
Is DeMellier A Luxury Brand?
The designs created by DeMellier range from innovative to traditional – something for everyone. Due to its price point, top-tier materials, strict attention to detail, and care that they put into their products, DeMellier is without a doubt a luxury brand. Also, to minimize waste and excess inventory, DeMellier makes every bag at a small, family-owned factory in Ubrique, Spain. In addition, the Leather Working Group certifies DeMellier’s leather suppliers, a nonprofit that audits leather makers’ environmental practices. DeMellier uses by-products from the meat industry from Italy or Spain. They do this instead of using hides from animals bred only for their hides. Through these practices, DeMellier ensures that they are using sustainably sourced materials and being environmentally and socially conscious. In my opinion, these are the kinds of things that makes a brand worth the investment.
One of my favorite things about DeMellier is that they play an active role in giving back to the community. Founder Mireia Llusia-Lindh has always been passionate about using DeMellier to help others, particularly children. Since they embarked on their mission, the DeMellier Foundation has funded 170,000 vaccines for children around the world through its “A Bag, A Life” initiative in collaboration with the charity “SOS Children’s Villages.” Through funding these vaccines and medical treatments, they have truly shown themselves to be a high quality and socially conscious brand.

Made in Spain from sustainable calf leather, this spacious bag is the perfect everyday bag to take with you everywhere from running errands to going to dinner with friends. Additionally, it comes in a variety of colors from burgundy, black, and camel, making it a great choice to pair with all of your looks.
Midi LA Braided Top-Handle Bag
If you’re looking for a chic midi-sized bag that you can wear in a variety of ways, the Midi LA Braided Top-Handle bag is perfect. Wear it as an every day cross body bag, made easy with its additional strap. Or for instance, wear it as a handbag/clutch for a night out with friends. Due to its high quality materials and timeless nature, in my opinion, this bag is worth the investment.

DeMellier’s Midi New York Tote is crafted in Spain of durable grained leather. This bag is a chic way to elevate your everyday tote bag look. Also, it’s available in taupe or tan. Pair this bag with a chic neutral outfit for work, such as a black blazer, a pair of neutral trousers and nude heels.
Verona Bag in Mocha
This chic shoulder bag is expertly crafted in Spain of cowhide leather for the exterior, with an inner twill lining. It’s timeless chic leather style makes it the perfect addition to any wardrobe. The New York Mini Croc-Embossed Top-Handle Bag is one of my favorite bags in my DeMellier collection. It’s mini size makes it the perfect bag to wear for a night out or dinner with friends. The croc-embossed leather feels smooth and has lasted me forever, without scuffing. Due to its adjustable strap, it can also be worn as a crossbody bag. This bag is one of my favorite mini bags and definitely worth the investment.
London Leather Clutch-On-Chain
If you’re looking for a chic clutch, the London Leather Clutch-On-Chain is a classic. Made in Spain of smooth leather, this clutch comes in black, taupe, or burgundy. Additionally, this piece is finished with a foiled logo and a dainty chain strap, making it the perfect chic accessory for a classy event or night out.
Lisbon Bag
One of the more unique silhouettes, the Lisbon bag is crafted out of sheepskin leather and polished with gold-tone hardware. This shoulder bag is modern, yet chic. It’s the perfect shoulder bag to pair with a classy flowy white dress or a swimsuit by the ocean. As well, in addition to the brown leather, it comes in black leather as well for a darker look.
