Accessorizing your swimsuit is about more than just throwing on a pair of flip-flops and SPF on your nose-it’s about injecting some real STYLE into your look. Whether you’re headed to the beach or will be lounging around the pool having cocktails with your friends, adding some stylish accessories to your look is like putting icing on the cake! Not sure what you need? Here’s a quick list on what you need to really get your ‘WOW!’ factor on by adding that pop of color or bling with your suit and look your absolute best on the beach!
How to Accessorize Your Swimsuit
Jewelry

It’s a known fact that the smallest details make the most difference whether they add a pop of color or just a bit of extra interest. In this case, we’re talking about the easy combination of a swimsuit and some jewelry. As a subtle accessory, it’ll enhance your look while still keeping it casual. For a successful day in the sun, pick out your favorite jewelry pieces I suggest layering necklaces or adding an anklet to complete your look.
Sunglasses Chain + Sunglasses

We wear SPF to protect our skin from those powerful uv rays, and we wear our cute sunglasses to protect our eyes. So what about an accessory for your sunglasses?! Sunglasses chains are on the rise and while they look like a dressy accessory, they are actually super practical for a family vacation and of course for not losing your sunnies! This one is from Amazon and is only $8.99. It is adorned with pearls but you might also find one with a pop of color if you are wanting to jazz up a simple black suit. My mom loved it so much, I’m going to have to order me another one!
A Boater Hat

The boater hat is a great way to make a statement while protecting your skin from the harmful uv rays. And it’s one that you will wear all year long. Below I’ve styled my favorite frayed straw hat!
A Dress that can be worn two ways

Again, those uv rays are powerful and dangerous so when you’re not in the water, you may way to wear a cover up to give your skin more protection. Instead of always focusing on buying just swimsuit coverups, I like to focus on cute flouncy dresses that I can style two ways. One being a coverup and it also being a cute dress I can wear on a date night or to brunch.
Beach Bag (Tote + Belt Bag)

When going to the beach, you find yourself carrying lots of stuff, most importantly your sunscreen to protect you and your loved ones from uv rays. So, I always pack a few cute totes in a few size ranges. Tip: start with your large one you can take to the beach and then pack the medium and small ones inside each other. That way you have a variety for the beach, brunch and date nights.
A Sarong

A sarong is the perfect accessory for the pool and beach. One, it takes up no room and as I mom I love covering my bum when out with the kids. And again, this is a way to add a pop of color if that is what you are going for in your look!
A Bandana + Head Wrap

Right now, bandanas are super important and can be worn both as a face covering or as cute hair accessories for the pool and beach.
Here are a few more ways to style!
Layer a belt from an existing swimsuit or a hat band to complete your look! I also love knotting a graphic tee over my swimsuit top and pairing it with my high-waisted bottoms!
