The animal print trend never seems to go out of style, especially when styled right. They can be classic and elegant, worn almost anywhere and great as accents or statement pieces to your outfits. Today, I am sharing tried and trusted tips on how you can style animal print and create awesome outfits around them no matter the season and occasion.
How To Wear Animal Print
Whether tiger print, cheetah print, leopard print or zebra print, here are some personal styling tips that I hope helps you create your next looking styling animal.
Style Monochromatic With Animal Print Accessories
My favorite way to wear an animal print is with being monochromatic neutral colors head to toe and then adding accessories such as an animal prints shoes or animal print bags.
Look 1
Styling a trench coat in spring or fall is the perfect way to take the animal print trend while staying classic and chic. I typically stick to neutral colors like black and white or camel tones to when adding an animal print shoe or bag.
Look 2
Here is a classic look while mixing textures like this lace top and denim, but adding an animal print trend accessory such as this snakeskin Gucci bag.
Look 3
In the colder months, you can switch out your trench coat for wool coat and create the same looking wearing an animal print shoe.
Look 4
I also love a long sleeve wrap coatigan when styling animal bags. It can easily be just as elegant with a black and white jacket.
Wearing Animal With Bold Colors
This might be my favorite personal styling for the fall season. For me, I typically stick to neutrals, but going with bright colors such as this rust is a such a statement. You could easily switch out your bright colors and opt for a black dress with long sleeves for fall. Here I paired it with a tall python animal print boot. If you go for a bold animal print dress, do the opposite and keep the rest of your outfit neutral.
Keep it Classic
If you are looking for more classic option, styling tiger print, leopard print or zebra print can also be show in subtle ways. Most days this is where my personal styling is when wearing animal print. Wearing all black and white and neutral colors then adding a splash of the animal print trend is an easy way.
Be Sporty With Your Animal Print
If you are a mom on the go, you can be chic in animal print while also being sporty. You can keep it monochrome with black and white and add animal print shoe such as a sneaker or go with bold colors on head-to-toe print if it’s subtle like the one I wore above.
What To Wear With Animal Print Skirt
Styling an animal print skirt is one of my favorite ways to style the animal print trend. You can add a graphic tee or a solid color short sleeve or long sleeves to any of your leopard print skirts. Below I’m sharing a few ways to style this animal print skirt.
Here I was in Nashville, so I wanted to style it with a band tee. Since I had a printed animal skirt, I kept my boots in solid color to complete the look.
You can also go more casual with this animal print skirt. For summer, I added a tank top (could also be styled with short sleeve or long sleeves. Additionally, to keep it casual wear with a solid color sneaker but you can also dress it up with a heel and a blouse for a date night.
Work to Date Night
This was one of my favorite looks from NY FASHION WEEK. I feel like such a girl boss in this long sleeve tiger print top and leather skirt. I kept all my accessories in neutral colors since I was wearing a print top. From work to cocktail hour this look is such an animal print statement.
Mix Animal Prints
Another option instead of an animal print skirt is these python animal print faux leather shorts. Here I kept my short sleeve top and accessories in solid neutral colors. This is the perfect brunch or date night look!
Don’t be afraid to mix prints even if it’s for family photos, the tip is make sure you stay within the same color story.
