London-based handbag brand, DeMellier, is known for crafting handbags that are just this. Made of durable, high-quality materials, DeMellier’s handbags combine both traditional and innovative chic styles. Because of the price point, some people question whether DeMellier bags are worth the investment; however, I am dedicating this post to sharing my honest review of DeMellier and determining whether or not their bags are worth the price tag.

New York Mini Croc-Embossed Top-Handle Bag
Mireia Llusia-Lindh founded DeMellier in 2010 and originally named it MILLI MILLU. However, she rebranded her company in 2017 and chose the name DeMellier, combining both the old and the new of her family history: “De” comes from Llusia-Lindh’s grandmother, and “Mellier” comes from her own first name. These chic handbags are not only trending now, they have been a hit with celebrities and royalty alike for years, from Duchess Camilla to Pippa Middleton and Princess Beatrice. Additionally, both Vogue and Cosmopolitan featured DeMellier.
I adore my Montreal bag from DeMellier. It’s the perfect accessory for every outfit, effortlessly transitioning from casual to dressy to workwear. The smooth taupe color of this bag I’m wearing is incredibly versatile, complementing every look and making it an essential addition to my wardrobe. It also comes in a variety of chic colors such as toffee, black, and burgundy.
The New York bag from Demellier is one of my most worn bags. I’m loving this stone grey color as a chic neutral option that is unique. I’m also loving the classic black, and it comes in a brown suede as well. Overall, this bag comes in a variety of colors and sizes and is great for elevating any outfit.
Is DeMellier A Luxury Brand?
The designs created by DeMellier range from innovative to traditional – something for everyone. Due to its price point, top-tier materials, strict attention to detail, and care that it puts into its products, DeMellier is without a doubt a luxury brand. Also, to minimize waste and excess inventory, DeMellier makes every bag at a small, family-owned factory in Ubrique, Spain. In addition, the Leather Working Group certifies DeMellier’s leather suppliers, a nonprofit that audits leather makers’ environmental practices. DeMellier uses by-products from the meat industry in Italy or Spain, instead of using hides from animals bred only for their hides. Through these practices, DeMellier ensures that they are using sustainably sourced Italian and Spanish materials and being environmentally and socially conscious. In my opinion, these are the kinds of things that make a brand worth the investment.
One of my favorite things about DeMellier is that they play an active role in giving back to the community. Founder Mireia Llusia-Lindh has always been passionate about using DeMellier to help others, particularly children. Since they embarked on their mission, the DeMellier Foundation has funded 170,000 vaccines for children around the world through its “A Bag, A Life” initiative in collaboration with the charity “SOS Children’s Villages.” Through funding these vaccines and medical treatments, they have truly shown themselves to be a high-quality and socially conscious brand.

The Tokyo Tote stands out for its stylish design and usefulness. It comes in five trendy colors, in both suede and leather, making it versatile and fashionable. If you need a roomy, chic tote bag that’s also sustainably made and high-quality, the Tokyo Tote is a great option.

Additionally, it comes in a variety of colors from burgundy, black, and camel, making it a great choice to pair with all of your looks.
New York Bucket Bag
If you’re looking for a durable daily bag, this bucket bag is the perfect tote alternative for an everyday bag. Made out of durable and long-lasting materials, the outer is 100% calf leather and the inner lining is 100% cotton. Also, it comes with an adjustable strap and drawstring. This smooth leather top handle bag is a perfect larger alternative to the nano montreal when you want a little more space to carry all of your essentials. It also comes in a variety of chic colors to choose from.
The miami clutch
One of the more unique silhouettes, the Miami Clutch, is crafted out of either suede or leather, depending on the style. This clutch is modern, yet chic. The perfect bag if you’re looking for a classy accessory for special events, while being ensured of high-quality craftsmanship. This bag also comes in a larger version, simply called the Miami. This is a chic slouchy bag option perfect for anything from everyday looks to more elevated outfits.
Santorini Caged Raffia Tote Bag
The DeMellier “Santorini” Tote Bag in caged calf leather and woven raffia is another one of the more innovative styles by DeMellier. I love this bag for a chic beach vacation outfit. It’s the perfect shoulder bag to pair with a classy flowy white dress or a swimsuit by the ocean. In addition to the brown leather, it comes in black leather and other colors as well. It also comes in a maxi size if you’re looking for a larger look.
